10/15/2008 Housing Authority Minutes
East Hampton Housing Authority
Chatham Acres
Governor Bill O’Neill Drive
East Hampton, CT 06424

A meeting was held on October 15, 2008 at Bellwood Court.  The meeting opened at 6:40pm.  Members present were Patricia Dufour, Monica Kangley, Jo Ann Ewing, Jeanne Hubbard, Sue Weintraub and Judie Bobbi.  Some residents from the Bellwood Court community were in attendance.

Minutes:
A motion was made by Ms. Kangley to approve the Minutes.   Ms. Ewing asked for clarification about obtaining quotes for painting of the doors.  Ms. Bobbi responded that she had gone out and solicited four quotes.  Ms. Ewing seconded.  Motion for Minutes carried.

Bills and Communication:
Ms. Bobbi presented the proposal for the Bellwood Court phone and internet.  AT&T has a state contract for municipalities and housing authorities.  We will be able to have phone and internet at Bellwood for less than the Comcast internet only.  Also, she found out that Chatham Acres was not getting the discount that is available by the state contract and we should save money on that account also.

Ms. Bobbi presented the three quotes that were received from painting contractors for sanding and painting of the exterior of all doors at Bellwood Court and Chatham Acres.  Ms. Ewing made a motion to award the contract to Rumberger & Co. from Middletown.  Ms. Hubbard seconded.  Motion carried.  Ms. Bobbi reported that the contractors were told that work was to be done this fall.

Ms. Kangley asked if we could look at the two benches at Bellwood court since they need painting.  Ms. Bobbi will ask Maintenance to take care of this.

Cash Report:
Ms. Bobbi presented the Cash Report for September 2008.  Ms. Kangley made a motion to approve the report.  Ms. Hubbard seconded.  Motion carried.

Old Business and New Business:
Ms. Bobbi asked if any Board Members want to attend the Housing Preservation training session on November 18th.  Ms. Dufour and Ms. Bobbi will attend.

Ms. Bobbi gave the WRAP update on the refrigerators.  We will know sometime after the 20th of October if the replacement will take place by the end of this year.

Ms. Bobbi went over the Privacy Notice Policy.  A copy will be included with the Minutes so that a discussion or vote can be done at the November 19th meeting.

Ms. Bobbi spoke to Mike Santoro at DECD about the first steps to look into toward pursuing the Congregate Development.

Ms. Weintraub presented information she had gathered from a few sources for the Housing Authority to look at and possibly set up a meeting with one or two of the organizations that are involved in searching for grants and developing projects.

Mr. Robida from Bellwood asked what can be done with individuals who come to visit and park in tenant parking.  Ms. Bobbi asked that the license number be taken and to call the office and she will try to find out who they are.

Ms. Robley asked to have clothesline replaced by her apartment.  Ms. Bobbi will notify maintenance.

A motion was made by Ms. Kangley to adjourn at 7:30pm.  Ms. Hubbard seconded.

Respectfully submitted by Judie Bobbi, recording secretary
